Travel, made easy with Journey

Travel, made easy with Journey

Because good sleep shouldn’t stop when you’re on the move.

You’re
finally away on the holiday you’ve been dreaming of for months… and your baby won’t sleep.

Oh no.

But don’t worry, this doesn’t need to be the case!

Many little ones struggle to sleep well while away from home - unfamiliar spaces, strange sounds and makeshift beds can all throw off their routine. That’s where the BabyRest Journey 2-in-1 Travel Cot comes in.

Lightweight yet sturdy, stylish yet practical, the Journey is designed to be your go-to travel companion - keeping your baby or toddler safe and comfortable whether you're staying at an Airbnb, visiting grandparents, heading on a road trip or even camping under the stars.

Have a baby or small child? A travel cot will save the day, repeatedly

Travelling with a baby or toddler is an adventure in itself. You want them to sleep well, but let’s be real - most portable sleep solutions are less than ideal. Hotel cots can be hit or miss, sleeping in bed with you isn’t the safest option, and makeshift sleeping arrangements (like a pile of pillows on the floor) definitely don’t cut it safety-wise.

A great travel cot gives you peace of mind and ensures your little one has a safe, comfortable sleep space - wherever you go. But not all travel cots are created equal.

Meet the BabyRest Journey: The travel cot that does it all

The Journey 2-in-1 Travel Cot is more than just a bed-on-the-go - it’s a thoughtfully designed solution for parents who don’t want to compromise on comfort, safety or convenience.

  • Sleep soundly (anywhere!)
The safer sleep-tested mattress is firm enough for newborns yet comfy for toddlers, and - unlike some travel cots - it doesn’t make that crinkly tarp-like sound every time your child moves.

  • Grows with your little one
Use the zip-in bassinet for newborns (0–6 months) and transition to the full-sized cot for older babies and toddlers (6+ months).

  • Intuitive design
With side storage pockets for essentials and an extra compartment below, you’ll never have to dig around for wipes, a dummy or that favourite teddy.

  • Easy to carry, effortless to set up
The Journey folds down compactly into a sleek travel bag with backpack straps, so you can keep your hands free for wrangling luggage and toddlers… or coffee. Just saying.

What to look for in a travel cot

Not all travel cots (also known as portacots) are built the same. Here’s what to keep in mind when choosing one:

  • Safety first
Ensure it meets safer sleep guidelines, including firmness standards and CO2 rebreathing tests for the mattress.

  • Comfort
A good mattress is key - some travel cots have ultra-thin padding that feels akin to cardboard - and who could sleep well on that?!

  • Ease of use
No one wants a portacot that takes 20 minutes and an engineering degree to assemble!

  • Portability
Look for a lightweight design with a compact fold and carry bag.

  • Longevity
A cot that adapts as your baby grows and is suitable for different ages means better value in the long run.

What to avoid in a travel cot

  • Thin, flimsy mattresses that don’t support your baby’s sleep needs

  • Noisy materials that rustle with every movement

  • Difficult assembly - you don’t want to wrestle with poles and zips at 10pm

  • Bulky, heavy designs that take up too much space in the car or luggage

Travel cots vs permanent cots

While the Journey is perfect for travel and occasional use, it’s not designed to replace a standard cot for everyday sleep. Permanent cots have thicker, more structured mattresses and solid frames built for long-term use. The Journey, on the other hand, is lightweight and portable - making it ideal for short-term stays, naps on the go, and overnight trips.

As seen in Lux Nomade

The Journey 2-in-1 Travel Cot was featured in Lux Nomade’sGame Changers for Mini Travellers in 2025Lux List, recognised as an essential for stylish, stress-free family travel. The verdict? A must-have for organised, on-the-go parents who want comfort, safety and ease - without sacrificing style.
